Asset Allocation
When it comes to investing, studies have shown that more than
90% of the return comes from choosing the right asset class,
not from choosing the correct stock or bond.
Where many talk of asset allocation in terms of stocks, bonds
and cash, we use 10 allocation categories. We do so to find vehicles
whose movements do not correlate. This approach is intended to
provide added downside protection while permitting growth of
the portfolio.

Estate Planning
- What kind of will do you need?
- What are the advantages of various trusts?
- Do you need to set up trusts?
Working with you before you visit an attorney
can save you money and ensure that you have the right questions
to ask the attorney regarding your estate.
We also suggest (and may assist in drawing) living wills for
our clients. We believe that a living will and a medical power
of attorney are necessary documents. Our rationale is simple:
- It is bad enough that the state will direct what happens
to your money if you die without a will (intestate);
- It is intolerable for the state to control what happens
to your body if you are in a coma, still alive, and unable
to make your desires known.

Retirement Planning
Longevity is increasing. Social Security is running out of
money. It is estimated that "baby boomers" are
setting aside little more than 1/3 of what they will need
to retire comfortably. HFH Planning assists clients in
discovering where they are financially and what they need
to do to enjoy retirement.

Risk Management
- Do you have
insurance?
- What insurance do you need?
- Are you over or under insured?
- What area should you consider self-insuring?
These are the questions HFH Planning will work
with you to answer. And the HFH difference is that if we recommend
you buy insurance, we will work with you to find the best place
to purchase it. We will not receive any commissions
or referral fees.

Tax Planning vs. Tax Preparation
Most individuals see their tax preparer once a year, between
February 1 and April 15. Tax preparation time. What they get
is tax preparation – what they need is tax planning.
HFH Planning provides pro-active tax planning advice. Our suggestions
will help save you money that you had been sending to the IRS.
Most people employ the same tax-preparer every year. Some tax
preparers have started doing returns by rote. HFH Planning
examines your individual return to ensure that deductions available
to you will be used in the future.

Cash Flow Analysis
Understanding spending patterns is an essential step in controlling cash flow.
Our emphasis is on raising client awareness, not simply establishing a budget.

College Cost Planning
The cost of sending children to college is growing. HFH Planning
assists in establishing a spending plan, advising which
college-savings and insurance policies are available, and
which colleges are affordable. We also provide direction
on financial aid resources.

Health Care Planning
- Which medical
plan should you choose?
- Is there a need for long term care
policies?
We assist our clients in
answering these and other related questions.

Tax Preparation
Tax return preparation and filing is available for those clients with uncomplicated
returns. |
